The surgeons at NT surgery are specialised in weight loss surgery and are members of the Australia & New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgical Society (ANZMOSS). Weight loss procedures they perform include sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, gastric (lap) banding and gastric balloons. They believe in a holistic approach and are affiliated with the Darwin Obesity Surgery Centre, working with a team that includes GP's, dieticians, psychologists, exercise physiologists and a nurse educator.

Dr Sara Toonson is a specialist GP with an interest in lifestyle medicine. She holds a fellowship in lifestyle medicine and is SCOPE certified. Dr Sara works closely with the team to provide follow-up and nutrition monitoring for patients who have had weight loss surgery in order to optimise their long-term health. She is skilled at working with those who have regained weight post procedure.

Dr Sara is also able to assist patients with medical management for weight loss as well as therapeutic carbohydrate restriction for optimal metabolic health.
